About the Product

Q.
What is a vacuum sealer?
-
A.
A vacuum sealer is a device that removes air from a specially designed bag or container and seals it airtight. This process preserves food freshness, extends shelf life, and prevents freezer burn by eliminating oxygen.
-
Q.
What can I use a vacuum sealer for?
-
A.
- Food preservation: Extends shelf life up to 5 times longer by reducing oxygen, which inhibits bacterial growth.
- Locks in flavors & nutrients: Prevents evaporation of volatile compounds, keeping food fresher and more flavorful.
- Prevents freezer burn: Airtight seal protects food from cold, dry air.
- Meal prep: Portion and store meals in advance for convenience.
- Quick marinating: Our vacuum sealers feature a pulse marinate cycle—household models run approx. 30 minutes, commercial models approx. 10 minutes. The system repeatedly vacuums and releases pressure (15 cycles for household, 5 for commercial) to infuse flavors rapidly.
- Sous vide cooking: Ideal for preparing restaurant-quality meals at home.
- Non-food items: Protects documents, electronics, and jewelry from moisture and corrosion.
- Space saving: Reduces package volume for more efficient storage.
-
Q.
How does vacuum sealing extend food freshness up to 5 times longer?
-
A.
By removing air, vacuum sealing reduces oxygen levels, which limits the growth of aerobic bacteria and mold. It also prevents the evaporation of volatile flavors and nutrients, keeping food fresher for longer.
-
Q.
How long does vacuum-sealed food last?
-
A.
Refrigerator: 2–3 times longer than normal storage
Freezer: Up to 2–3 years (depending on food type)
Pantry (dry goods): 1–2 years for items like grains, nuts, and beans
-
Q.
Does vacuum-sealed food need to be refrigerated or frozen? How should I defrost it?
-
A.
Yes. Vacuum packaging extends shelf life but does not stop spoilage if food was already deteriorating. Always refrigerate or freeze perishable vacuum-sealed foods.
To defrost: Place frozen vacuum-sealed packages in the refrigerator, never at room temperature, as the food inside is not sterile.
-
Q.
Can I vacuum-seal liquids?
-
A.
Yes, but use the "Pulse" or "Super Moist" setting (if available) to prevent liquid from being drawn into the machine. Alternatively, pre-freeze liquids before sealing. For best results, use a vacuum canister for liquids.
-
Q.
What foods should NOT be vacuum sealed?
-
A.
- Soft cheeses: May mold faster
- Raw fruits like bananas, whole apples: Emit natural gases; slice apples and treat with lemon juice before sealing
- Raw onions, garlic, mushrooms, cruciferous vegetables: (cabbage, lettuce, radishes, kale) – they release gases that break the seal
- Coffee beans: (release carbon dioxide, causing loss of vacuum)
- Freshly cooked/steamed vegetables: (cool to room temperature first to prevent vacuum loss)
-
Q.
Can I vacuum seal non-food items?
-
A.
Yes. Coins, important documents, silverware, survival kits, and more. Take precautions:
Use cardboard backing for coins to prevent imprints.
Wrap sharp items (e.g., silverware) in soft material like paper towel to avoid puncturing the bag.
-
Q.
Can I preserve wine or other liquids with a vacuum sealer?
-
A.
Yes. Use bottle stoppers to vacuum seal partially consumed wine or other liquids. This removes oxygen and preserves flavor up to 5 times longer than re-corking. Leave at least 1 inch of space between liquid and stopper.
-
Q.
What types of bags or containers work with a vacuum sealer?
-
A.
Vacuum sealer bags/rolls: Embossed (textured) to allow air to escape during sealing.
Embossed zip bags: Reusable, ideal for dry goods.
Vacuum canisters: Airtight containers designed for use with vacuum sealers.
-
Q.
What should I do if my vacuum sealer stops working?
-
A.
Check that the bag is inserted correctly and the lid is fully closed.
Consult the user manual for troubleshooting.
