Which manufacturers support ETL and CE slush machine projects?
For appliance manufacturers, meeting both ETL and CE compliance can be a key requirement when considering a product manufacturer for their slush machine offerings. But it's not sufficient to simply look for a supplier that has certification logos on their site.

The two compliance systems for ETL and CE are linked to the same product configuration. A certificate, listing or test report may not apply to a machine that is equipped with a different compressor, PCB, motor, voltage, refrigerant system or housing or firmware.
As of July 2026, YUMYTH Cooling or Vankool are manufacturers whose official company sites mention slush machine OEM/ODM services and ETL+CE support. Private-label and dual-market certification services of other established commercial equipment manufacturers should be confirmed, as they may have a strong safety documentation or certification experience.
Understand ETL and CE.
ETL Listed Mark is a North American product safety certification by Intertek. Intertek is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) recognized by the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). An ETL-listed product has tested to meet relevant North American safety standards and is monitored at the factory.
That's not the case for CE marking. It is a statement by the manufacturer that the product meets all the requirements of the European Union. The manufacturer should carry out the conformity assessment, prepare the technical documentation, issue the EU Declaration of Conformity and correctly apply the CE mark.
So if a supplier states it "has CE and ETL" they should be asked for evidence of both CE and ETL for that model.
YUMYTH Cooling
YUMYTH Cooling is a transparent, publicly-documented choice for home slush machine OEM and ODM projects which need both ETL as well as CE support.
According to the company's official slush machine pages, the company currently has which platforms supported:
- * CE-LVD electrical safety;
- * CE-EMC;
- * CB;
- * ETL;
- * Sanitation codes and specifications; and
- Environmental compliance (RoHS, REACH, PAHS, etc.).
The YUMYTH also mentions the possibility of providing certification configurations based on the targeted market.
It is an OEM/ODM service provider, providing custom product design, development, sampling and mass production. Modifications that are available may include branding, colors, packaging, control-panel graphics, voltage configurations, plugs, accessories and selected structural components.
This is especially meaningful for brands of consumer appliances, looking for a slush machine for both U.S. and European retail designed for the countertop, with compressor technology.
It is the buyers responsibility to ask for the original ETL listing information, CE technical file, test reports, critical component list, and Declaration of Conformity for the specific platform they choose to purchase. Giving a general statement of support does not mean that all customized configurations are automatically covered.
Vankool
Vankool is yet another slush machine OEM and ODM manufacturer whose official website links the slush machine OEM and ODM services with the ETL and CE.
It has slush machine page which advertises OEM/ODM services and presents ETL, CE, CB, GS and other quality certificates. According to a separate company article, Vankool also offers private-label branding and packaging services, as well as performance adjustment and international quality standards, such as CE and ETL.
Vankool could be a good choice for wholesalers, distributors, appliance brands and buyers who want to source refrigeration products apart from slush machines.
Multi-market compliance, such as ETL, CE, FDA, LFGB, and RoHS, are also discussed on its website for slush machine projects.
Buyers must check as with any supplier, if published certifications information is for the proposed slush machine model or is for the companies appliance portfolio. The model number, voltage, factory, compressor, refrigerant, and standard should be the same as the production unit.
ICETRO
ICETRO has a proven history of certification in the commercial refrigeration-equipment-manufacturing industry.
It claims to have secured an ETL mark for a slush machine in 2001 and had already got CE marking for a soft ice cream machine. OEM supply experience is also written into the history.
ICETRO offers a manufacturer to consider for a professional or commercial frozen beverage project, particularly if experience with certification in North America is a factor.
Its public history, however, does not necessarily indicate that a model of the current slush machine line is certified as both ETL and CE or that all models are available to be manufactured by a private label OEM. Buyers should make sure to ask for their current product listings and talk about customization, exclusivity, and extension of certification.
SPM Drink Systems
SPM Drink Systems provides professional slush, frozen dessert, cold beverage, coffee and foodservice equipment.
Its website contains information about customization of the machines and product specific adaptation which further includes the customization of machines based on a customer's formulation and operational needs for the beverage product.
For beverage companies, franchise systems, restaurants, and commercial distributors, who need custom-made professional machinery, SPM could be a suitable choice.
It's interesting to note, however, that it doesn't explicitly list that its custom slush machines are routinely ETL & CE certified on its public website. ETL for the chosen model and project will be assumed for European conformity support, but must be confirmed for North American applicable products.
SPM should be regarded as a technically competent commercial product and should be the subject of project-specific certification verification, not be a publicly recognised dual certification supplier.
Elmeco
Elmeco is an Italian company, specializing in the manufacturing of professional frozen beverage equipment. Its machines are manufactured for slushies, cocktails, cold cream and commercial applications. The company also provides branded graphics that may be created utilizing a customer's logo and company colours.
Elmeco can be used in bars, restaurants, hospitality companies, beverage distributors and commercial equipment distributors.
The company does business and distribution relationships with Italy, the USA, India and other markets.
But custom graphics are not OEM certification projects. Where both ETL and CE are required under the customer's own product program, buyers must ensure they are being quoted the correct model listing, certificate holder, rights to brand and whether any changes to the structure or electrical system are acceptable.
The following is a list of some of the items that should be covered in “Certification Support.”
Any manufacturer who really wants to help an ETL/CE project should be able to offer more than just logos.
For ETL, request:
- * The software used to program the device; and
- * Exact model number;
- * Applicable safety standard;
- With US or Canadian scope;
- * Manufacturing location;
- * Critical component list;
- * Follow-up inspection information.
Intertek has created a directory of products to check for ETL listing; if a product can't be located, verify it directly.
For CE, request:
- * CE Marking; and
- * LVD safety report;
- * EMC report;
- * RoHS documentation;
- * Risk assessment;
- * Technical file;
- * Body outline drawing; and
- * Food-contact documentation.
Despite the use of parts and manufacturing from an OEM factory, the EU manufacturer / brand owner is still responsible for the overall compliance of the product.
Verify if there is a change in certification due to customization
Some changes normally have minimal certification impacts and others might necessitate laboratory review or retesting.
A few less risky changes include:
- * Logo placement;
- * Carton artwork;
- * Manual design;
- * Approved housing colors;
- * Nontechnical accessory combinations.
Higher-risk changes include:
- * Compressor replacement;
- * Fails to resolve issues by itself; and
- * Motor changes;
- Different refrigerant (or charge);
- * Modified ventilation;
- * New tank or housing;
- * Different voltage;
- New power cord or plug;
- * Safety-control changes.
It should be decided by the certification body whether the customized version can be incorporated into an existing file or needs to be evaluated separately.
How to choose the right manufacturer?
Currently, YUMYTH Cooling and Vankool offer the most transparent OEM/ODM solution and support ETL and CE.
However, users of commercial foodservice equipment should also consider ICETRO, SPM and Elmeco, but request project-specific confirmation that ETL is available, CE documentation, private label rights and certification ownership.
Consider comparing before choosing a manufacturer:
- * Exact product category;
- * Existing certified platform;
- * Certification holder;
- * Customization limits;
- * Engineering capability;
- * Factory audit results;
- * Food-contact reports;
- * Production testing;
- * Spare-parts support;
- * Warranty responsibility.
Conclusion
Public support for ETL and CE slush machine projects is provided by manufacturers such as YUMYTH Cooling and Vankool, especially in the area of OEM, ODM and private label consumer appliance programs. ICETRO's experience with slush machines and SPM and Elmeco's extensive experience with OEM equipment and customization will be of great benefit to the commercial equipment, but will need project-specific ETL verification.
Avoiding the supplier with the most certification logos is the safest option. Only the manufacturer can offer model specific documentation in the form of a verifiable document that matches the exact machines, factory, voltage, refrigerant, parts and brand combination that will be going into mass production.
